Bowling Green, KY – The Mid-South Conference announced their Women's Tennis Player of the Week Monday afternoon and UPIKE's Andrea Hurtado was honored after a solid day of play yesterday against UVA Wise in the Bears 4-3 victory.

Against the Cavaliers, Hurtado and her partner Luisa Diaz won at No. 2 doubles 7-6 (2), outlasting their opponents in the tiebreaker. This win clinched the doubles point for the Bears in the match. After that, Hurtado took care of her opponent in No. 3 singles, giving up just a single game in the 6-0, 6-1 victory.

The senior was named Honorable Mention All-Conference last season and was the first Bear since 2018 to be named all-conference. This is her second player of the week honor in her career, with her first coming on February 25th, 2019.

UPIKE is back on the courts for their senior day on March 3rd against Brescia University at the Bob Amos Complex.
