Bowling Green, KY – Women's bowling landed nine athletes on the Mid-South Conference All-Academic Awards list Tuesday morning. The Bears had the most athletes represented of all MSC schools.
A total of 41 student-athletes in the conference were recognized with the academic distinction, led by UPIKE and followed by Thomas More with six.
A pair of Bears in Pia Von Gierszewski and
Vanessa Fuzie claimed the award for the first time in their careers.
Represented in the sophomore class was
Kadie Dicken who earns her second career MSC academic distinction. Five juniors made up the bulk of the list including
Stephanie Crider,
Nicole Gilbert,
Ashleigh Maldonado,
Carrington Russell and
Erin Thibeault. Thibeault was also named to the Champions of Character team.
The lone senior for the Bear was
Erika Sisk. Each of the upperclassmen have now earned the award in consecutive seasons.
In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must be in their third term or fourth quarter.
The Bears are gearing up for an important stretch in Bowling Green, KY this weekend as they are set to compete in the MSC Championships.
