Alzate Wins Sixth Singles Match; Bears Fall At Lindsey Wilson

Columbia, KY – The University of Pikeville men's tennis team dropped their match at No. 9 Lindsey Wilson College Sunday afternoon, 6-1. Juan Diego Alzate picked up the lone singles victory for the Bears in the No. 3 slot (6-2, 6-1) over Steven Espinoza. This is Alzate's sixth singles victory of the season.

Alzate and Mirko Dedich won their fourth doubles match of the season, but the Bears couldn't claim the doubles point. Valentin Ortiz took his match at No. 1 singles to three sets against Jan Silhavy, but dropped the final set.

The Bears return to action on Saturday at Bob Amos Complex where they host the Freed-Hardeman Lions at 1:00 p.m. UPIKE beat Freed-Hardeman last season 5-2.
