Stamper Garners NAIA All-American Distinction

Kansas City, MO – Morgan Stamper adds NAIA Second Team All-American to her growing list of achievements following Friday's announcement from the national office. The sophomore standout has now collected three seasonal awards following the 2021-22 season which include All-MSC First-Team, WCBA All-American, and now NAIA All-American.

It was apparent from the start of the season that Stamper was primed for a stellar year, opening the season with back to back double-doubles, one of which came against NCAA DI Northern Kentucky. Stamper began to establish herself as an unstoppable force under the basket, climbing the NAIA leaderboard in rebounding the entire season.

Stamper was also a constant scoring threat, using her dominance on the offensive boards to create second chance opportunities. The Independence, Ky. , dropped 437 points, averaging 13.2 points which was second on the team. Her 33-point outright assault against Midway was the highest point total of any Bear this season. That game, Stamper also collected 22 rebounds in one of the best showings by any player anywhere this season.

The physicality and execution under the basket put her at the free throw line for 165 attempts on the season which led the Bears by a long shot. Her 47% clip from the field is excellent considering her 342 shots taken on the season.

In all, Stamper finished in the top ten nationwide in total rebounds (400) and rebounds per game (12.1), while her 6.5 offensive boards per game was the best in the NAIA. Her sophomore campaign featured 21 double-doubles.

Accolades aside, Stamper's career took a huge step throughout this past season, a step that saw her become a leader on the court and in the locker room. With the offseason approaching and the team preps for 2022-23, Bear Nation looks forward to watching the All-American evolve her game even more next season.
