Sterling Heights, MI – Women's bowling finished their NAIA Championships run Friday, falling in the opening round to William Penn before being defeated by Baker University in the elimination bracket.

The No. 5 seeded Bears took on No. 12 seed William Penn on Friday in the opening round of bracket play, falling 2-3. The Bears opened the match with a 179-144 victory in game one, followed by a close 214-213 loss in game two. UPIKE fought back in the third game and won 225-213 but fell in the final two games, dropping to the elimination bracket.

No. 3 seed Baker University was the opponent for the elimination game after the Wildcats had fallen to Midland 3-2 in the second round. The Bears once again opened the match with a 202-174 victory but fell in the next two games by scores of 185-145 and 235-206. Game four went to UPIKE 246-199 but Baker edged a five-pin victory in the final game.

Women's bowling still has a busy schedule ahead as they set their sights towards the USBC ITC National Championships in April. The Bears will compete in Addison, IL from Wednesday, April 20^th through Saturday, April 23^rd.
