Pikeville, KY – The University of Pikeville men's tennis team won their second dual match in two days Sunday afternoon at Bob Amos Complex over Mid-South Conference foe Bethel University, 6-1.
The Bears won all three doubles matches for just the second time this season to earn the first point. After the first three singles matches, they already had the dual locked up 4-0 as
Valentin Ortiz (6-1, 6-0),
Mirko Dedich (6-2, 6-3), and
Juan Diego Alzate (6-3, 7-5) all earned victories in straight sets on courts one, two, and three. Ortiz won his fifth singles match, Dedich won his seventh, and Alzate won his eighth singles match of the season.
Also winning for the Bears was
Martin Lorenzo (6-4, 6-1) at No. 5 and
Luis Gayoso (6-1, 6-1) at No. 6. This was Lorenzo's fourth victory and Gayoso's first singles victory of the season.

UPIKE improves to 4-6 overall this season and sit at 2-3 in the MSC. They take a break from the MSC for their next dual match when they travel to Midway University to take on the Eagles at 12:00 p.m.
