Midway, KY – The University of Pikeville women's tennis team won their fourth straight dual match on Wednesday afternoon at Midway University, 5-2.
The Eagles took the doubles point with wins on court one and three.
Luisa Diaz and
Camila Agudelo won 6-3 at No. 2 for the lone Bears doubles victory. This is their second win as a team this season.
However, trailing 1-0 heading into singles play, UPIKE stepped up. Wins on courts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 sealed the deal for the Bears.
Andrea Hurtado won 6-1, 6-4 for her sixth win of the season. Diaz took court two 6-1, 6-3 for her fourth win, and
Gabriela Guacanes won her fourth straight singles match with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at No. 3. Agudelo won 6-2, 6-0 for win number two and
Riley Mullins picked up her fifth victory 6-1, 6-2 on court six.
What's Up Next
With the win, the Bears improve to 6-3 overall this season and have already surpassed their win total from last season. They are back in Mid-South Conference play on Saturday when they travel to play at No. 19 Campbellsville University with a 3:00 p.m. start time.
