Hurtado Named An Honorable Mention For Second Straight Season

Bowling Green, KY – The Mid-South Conference announced their 2022 women's tennis All-Conference teams this afternoon and Andrea Hurtado was an Honorable Mention for the Bears. This is the second season in a row that Hurtado was named an Honorable Mention. She becomes the first two-time All-Conference performer since Macarena Acuna. Acuna was All-Conference three straight seasons from 2015-2017.

The senior finished the regular season at 10-6 in singles play and 4-6 in conference singles play. She finished the year 8-7 overall in doubles play and 4-5 in conference doubles play. Hurtado and Luisa Diaz picked up a big win against (RV) Cumberland University earlier this season, 7-6 (4) over Maria Arbelaez and Elina Sungatullina.

She primarily played in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles slots and No. 1 and No. 2 doubles spots for UPIKE. Hurtado was also named MSC Player of the Week for the second time in her career on February 7th.

The Bears will be back in action tomorrow afternoon in Bowling Green, KY against the Bethel University Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. CT. They beat the Wildcats 5-2 earlier this season on March 27th.
