Georgetown, KY – The University of Pikeville men's tennis team defeated Mid-South Conference foe Georgetown College Sunday afternoon on the road, 5-2.
For the second day in a row, UPIKE lost the doubles point and were forced to win the match in singles play. For the second day in a row, they were able to get it done.
They won the first four matches to take the dual 4-1.
Mirko Dedich won his eighth match this year 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3.
Juan Diego Medina claimed his fourth with a 7-5, 6-0 win on court five.
Juan Diego Alzate won in three sets on court two 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 for his 11th win this year.
Valentin Ortiz trailed 1-0 (4-6) at No. 1 again today, but for the second straight day made the comeback. He won 6-4, 6-1 in the final two sets for his eighth win of the season.
Martin Lorenzo's 6-3, 7-5 win on court five put the finishing touches on a 5-2 Bears victory. Medina and Ortiz also won their fourth doubles match of the year 6-2. This is the third straight win UPIKE has had over Georgetown.
