Pikeville, Ky. – The UPIKE Bears dropped a 7-0 match decision to the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders Wednesday at Bob Amos Park. 

Doubles: 

Genesis Medina and Gabriella Guacanes opened up doubles play with a close, 7-5 match to Anastasiia Ivanchenko and Salome Sposetti. LWC's Reshma Challarapu and Darija Mladenovic secured the doubles point for the Blue Raiders with a 6-0 win over Hannah Thompson and Elizabeth Davis. Sara Contreras and Katharina Steib fell 6-3 and LWC took a 1-0 lead into singles play. 

Singles: 

Gabriella Guacanes fell 6-2, 6-2 Reshma Challarapu to open singles play. Genesis Medina took on Darija Mladenovic and lost 6-1 in the first set. The second set was much closer but Mladenovic took the set and the match 6-4. Lindsey Wilson secured the match after Salome Sposetti defeated Elizabeth Davis 6-0, 6-0. The Blue Raiders took the next three singles matches and won the match 7-0.

The Bears will be back in action tomorrow for a matchup with the Thomas More Saints at Bob Amos Park.
