WALESKA, Ga. – The Appalachian Athletics Conference has announced the women's basketball all-conference team, with the University of Pikeville having several representatives on it.

In addition to two first-team selections, a second-team pick and one member each of the all-defensive and all-freshman teams, UPike had a league-leading 19 members of the Academic All-Conference team.

Morgan Stamper and sophomore
Allie Stone were named first-team all-conference, graduate student
Bailey Frazier was named both second-team all-conference and to the all-defensive team and
Rachel Bush represents the Bears on the all-freshman team.

Stamper was selected first-team after running away with the rebounding title in the conference. The 5-9 senior from Independence averaged 12.6 rebounds per game, which was 2.6 more than the runner-up. She also averaged 10.8 points per game.

She will enter this week's AAC tournament with 1,164 points and 1,190 rebounds, making her only the third player in women's basketball history to have a 1000-1000 career.

Stone is a 5-6 sophomore from Olive Hill. Her average of 20.3 points per game made her one of only two women's basketball players in the AAC to average at least 20 per game this season. She was second in the league in three-point shooting, nailing 44.9 percent of her attempts.

She finished the regular season hitting 85.4 percent from the free throw line, which is third in the conference. She will enter Thursday's tournament opener needing 16 points to become the 29
th member of the 1,000-point club at the school.

Frazier was named second-team all-conference and to the all-defensive team. The 5-9 graduate student from Wise, Va., averaged 11.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for the Bears. Her defensive prowess was on display with 50 steals and 37 blocked shots. Her average of 1.3 blocks per game was tied for third in the league.

She will begin postseason play with 1,197 points in her career to go with 574 rebounds.

Bush was named to the 10-player all-freshman team. A 6-0 forward from Greenup, she 10.1 points and 5.5 rebounds this season. Her 58.5 percent shooting was the fourth best in the league. She also sank 38.1 percent from the arc and was 77.1 percent from the line.

UPike's representative on the Champions of Character team is
Alexis Moore, who is a 5-9 sophomore from Dry Ridge. The Owen County product was limited to only two games this season but remained active within the locker room and on the team.

Pikeville placed 19 members of the program on the all-academic team after finishing the fall semester with 3.78 GPA. To qualify for this, a player must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and be a sophomore or higher academically.

The Bears are seeded fourth in this week's AAC tournament and will play No. 5 Johnson University on Thursday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. The tournament is played at the MeadowView Convention Center and Resort in Kingsport, Tenn.
