Renee Crooks named AAC Women's Golfer of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Appalachian Athletic Conference officials announced Monday that University of Pikeville women's golfer Renee Crooks is this week's AAC Women's Golfer of the Week.

Renee Crooks finished tied for ninth in a field of 78 golfers at the Invite at Innisbrook last week. On a par 71 course, the senior from Toronto, Ontario, finished at +10 for the tournament. Crooks climbed five spots on the leaderboard after shooting a 72 in round three to close out the tournament.

The Invite at Innisbrook pitted the Bears against some very tough competition, with eight of the fourteen teams either ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25. Renee Crooks' scores helped the Bears secure a fifth-place finish.

Monday's announcement marks Renee Crooks' first Golfer of the Week recognition of this year and fifth overall. UPike women's golf will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday in Burkesville, Ky., for the Gibson Bay Invitational hosted by Lindsey Wilson University.
