DICKSON, Tenn. – The University of Pikeville men's golf team recorded a Top 10 finish in the weather-shortened Music City Collegiate on Tuesday.

Scheduled for three rounds, the tournament was cut short after the second round of play early Tuesday. It was held at the Par 72, 6746-yard Greystone Golf Course.

The 19-team field featured seven teams in the NAIA Top2 5 poll and three others who got votes in the ranking.

The Bears finished in a three-way tie for eighth in the field, shooting one-over par, and were tied with No. 14 Marian (Ind.) and RV Cumberlands.

No. 4 Dalton State (Ga.) won the tournament by five strokes, shooting 19-under par. Top-ranked Lindsey Wilson was second at 14-under. No. 25 Northwester Ohio followed at 11-under, while No. 21 Point (Ga.), a fellow AAC program, was fourth, seven under.

No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan was tied for fifth at 3-under par.

Among the teams the Bears finished ahead of were No. 22 Campbellsville, which was 11
th at 2-over, and two teams receiving votes: Cumberland (Tenn.) University finished 12
th at 3-over, and Tennessee Wesleyan, which came in 16
th at 12-over.

Peyton Compton led the Bears individually, finishing 21
st at 2-under par. Senior
Jon Bryant and junior
Kaeden Anderson, the current AAC player of the week, were both 1-over par.

Saul Crist followed at 4-over par. Freshmen
Eli Shope and
Melvin Ringnes both finished 10-over par.

UPike's next action will be Oct. 19-21 when it competes in the Whistling Straights Classic in Sheboygan, Wisc.
