WALESKA, Ga. – Three members of the University of Pikeville women's volleyball team were named all-conference on the eve of the AAC volleyball tournament.
Those players were led by
Chloie Brinton, the setter who was named both the league's Newcomer of the Year and a first-team all-conference selection.
Brinton was joined on the first team by junior
Lanie Hawley, while teammate
Cassidy Rivas was picked for the second team.
The Bears also had
Raegan Mullins on the Champions of Character Team and a dozen members on the All-Academic Team.
Brinton is a 5-8 junior from Lindon, Utah. She led the AAC in both total assists, with 1,053, and assists per set at 9.57. Her 1,053 assists in 12
th most in the country. She was named setter of the week five times and defender of the week once.
In addition, Brinton is second on the team in digs with 318 and third in service aces with 26.
Hawley, a 5-11 junior from Burlington, Wisc., was named first-team all-conference for the third straight season. She will enter this week's conference tournament with 230 kills, averaging 2.03.
Hawley is also a force on the defensive side of the net. Her average of 1.08 blocks per set leads the team and is third in the league, and she was named defender of the week two times. She has a team-best 41 service aces, which is fourth in the conference.
Rivas is a 5-9 sophomore from Cincinnati. She was a member of the league's all-freshman team last season. She leads the team with 271 kills, and her average of 2.95 kills per set is fourth in the conference, and was winner of the attacker of the week one time.
She ranks third on the team with 174 digs and is fifth in service aces with 14 and blocks with 31.
Mullins, a sophomore from Martin, Ky., was named to the 13-member Champions of Character team. This team honors players who best represent their team in the five core values the NAIA embraces, which are respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership and sportsmanship.
Hawley, Mullins and Rivas were joined by nine teammates on the All-Academic Team. This collection of players are sophomores or higher, have completed one semester at their current school and have a minimum of a 3.25 grade-point average.

Lillian Carpenter, a junior from Indianapolis;
Ashtyn Filkins, a sophomore from McConnelsville, Ohio;
Munachi Ibeawuchi, a sophomore from Greenbelt, Md.;
Emily Johnson, a junior from Printer;
Gracey Lovgren, a senior from Stillman Valley, Ill.;
Jordan Roberts, a senior from Waleska, Ga.;
Theresa Romero, a senior from Phoenix, and;
Jada Slone, a senior from Prestonsburg.
