Box Score GRAYSON, Ky. – The University of Pikeville saw its win streak end at eight in a surprising 71-64 loss to Kentucky Christian University on Wednesday night.

The setback was the first to the Knights since Feb. 14, 2012, when then Kentucky Christian College pulled off a 71-66 win in Pikeville.

The loss came on a night when the Bears got a career high 35 points from junior guard
Allie Stone, who hit four three-point shots and all nine of her free throws. She also matched her career best with seven rebounds and handed out three assists.

However, while Stone made 11 field goals, the rest of the team combined for only 12.

Sophomore wing
Rachel Bush recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds, five of which came off the offensive glass. It is her third straight game with double digit points and rebounds and the fourth time in five games she's pulled it off.

The Greenup product has scored in double figures eight straight times and 14 times in the last 16 games.

Hazley Matthews led the Knights with 29 points while grabbing five rebounds. She was 11 of 16 from the field and made four of five three-point shots. Bell Sparks followed with 16 points.

Kelsee Simpson had a double-double of her own, scoring 12 while pulling down 11 rebounds.

KCU outscored the Bears 16-9 in the second period to take a 29-23 lead to intermission. Each team scored 20 in the third period and the Knights tacked on one more point in the fourth.

KCU was 8 of 17 from the arc and turned the ball over only seven times.

UPike is now 17-8 on the season and 16-5 in the AAC. It will close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. when it hosts Columbia International (S.C.) University at the UPike Gym.

 KCU now stands 8-20 overall, 6-15 in the conference.
