Men's Track and Field Wyatt Oxley

Track competes at Louisville Invite

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Pikeville track and field competed at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational hosted by the University of Louisville this weekend.  

Junior thrower David Exum competed in the hammer throw and recorded a 48.55m toss. In a field full of division one athletes, Exum came in 20th place. Exum's mark was the second-best among NAIA athletes at the event.  

Finishing two spots behind Exum was sophomore Zeke Hagley. Hagley recorded a mark of 48.26m, the third-best among competing NAIA athletes.  

In the shot put, Hagley came in tenth place after a throw that went 14.76m. Hagley's mark in the shot put was better than multiple division one athletes, and the second-best among NAIA athletes in the event.  

Finishing out the results for the Bears was Zach Mason in the high jump. Mason recorded a mark of 1.80m and finished tied for tenth place. Just like Exum and Hagley, Mason finished second amongst NAIA competition in the event.  

The track and field Bears will be back in action on Friday for the Mount Olive Final Qualifier hosted by the University of Mount Olive.
