For the second consecutive season, University of Pikeville thrower Zeke Hagley competed at the 2026 NAIA Indoor National Championship last week in Gainesville, Fla.
 
Hagley, a junior from Ona, W.Va., competed at the in the weight throw. It was in this event that he earned his All-American status last season. 
 
In very competitive field this year, Hagley finished 21^st in a field of 30, throwing a mark of 17.55m.
 
"We did every we could the last two weeks to be physical ready for nationals," Assistant Coach Dave Espinoza said. "We had everything dialed in. Unfortunately it didn't work out for us to improve place from last season.
 
"Zeke did everything we could ask from for, and I was very proud as always on how he represents himself and the University of Pikeville. We move on to the outdoor season to show what we can do."
 
The Bears will open up the outdoor season March 20-21 at the Montreat Open host by Montreat (N.C.) College.
