DANVILLE, Ky. – University of Pikeville men's and women's track and field took a small squad to compete at the Centre Indoor Invitational & Multis hosted by Centre College Saturday.
Both the men's and women's 600m records were broken after
Carlie Osborne ran a 1:40.01 and
Joshua Martinez ran a 1:24.02. Martinez and Osborne both finished third in their respective events.
Rylan Rash and
Jacob Hughes both set new personal bests in the 800m with times of 2:19.93 and 2:26.65, respectively.
Giovanni Jones set new personal records in the 400m and 200m. Jay'Qwan Walker and
Trenton Terry recorded their best times of the season in the 400m.
In the women's 200m,
Lauren Mann and
Abigail McPherson set new personal bests in the 200m dash. Mann ran a 32.98 and McPherson ran a 32.98. McPherson also set a new school record in the high jump with a 1.42m leap.
The men's field events saw
Zack Mason come in fourth place in the high jump, then finish ninth in the triple jump.
Zeke Hagley had a pair of fourth-place finishes in the weight throw and shot put.
Alex Rogers also made finals in both the weight throw and shot put. Rogers finished sixth in the shot put then came in eighth place in the weight throw.
Matthew Edwards came in tenth place in the shot put, then threw a 14.41 in the weight throw, a new personal best. Devonte Gordon also set new personal bests in the weight throw and shot put.
Next up for Coach
Anthony Kowalczyk's track and field Bears is a trip to Winston-Salem, N.C., for the 2026 AAC Indoor Conference Championships. This year's AAC Championships will start on Thursday (2/19) and end Friday (2/20).
