PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The National Association of Collegiate eSports (NACE) is gathering the top varsity programs in the nation, including the University of Pikeville, for its inaugural NAC National Invitational to be played out over two weeks from April 10-21 in League of Legends.
Collegiate eSports programs are placed into four groups of four teams each where they will play a round-robin schedule from April 10-12. The winners from each group will advance to a single-elimination finals bracket to be played out on April 20-21.
The invitational is the first of its type in the United States, being a League tournament consisting of only varsity collegiate eSports programs. The Summoner's Rift map will be used throughout the tournament and all matches will be streamed live at 6 p.m. ET on the event's Battlefy page.
UPIKE opens play in the invitational against Indiana Tech on Monday, followed by matchups with Morningside (Iowa) on Tuesday and wrapping up with Miami (Ohio) on Wednesday.
NACE is committed to helping its members grow strong eSports programs to benefit colleges and students alike. NACE is the only association of college and university sponsored eSports programs that promotes the education and development of students through intercollegiate eSports.
NACE is a nonprofit membership association organized by and on behalf of our member institutions. Together, our members are developing the structure and tools needed to advance collegiate eSports in the varsity space.
