Williamsburg, KY –
Noah Thomas broke the school record with a distance of 46.38 meters in the men's hammer throw on his way to a second-place finish at the MSC Track & Field Championships on Sunday. Day one of the event saw several personal and program records while a pair of Bears qualified for finals in running events.
Thomas notched his first MSC podium finish in the men's hammer throw, placing second. The sophomore now owns the program record in the shot-put, discus, hammer throw, and the javelin. Thomas has had a breakout season and was honored with UPIKE's Record Breaking Performance of the year at the 2021 Bear Awards. With the finish Thomas earns second team All-MSC honors.
Bobby Allums took to the track in the men's 400-meter event and set a new personal and school record with a time of 50.92. His performance qualified him for finals which will take place tomorrow at 1:35 PM.
Kimberlee Lester competed in the women's 400 meter hurdles and finished with a time of 1:12.80. Lester's time qualified her for the finals in the event that is set for 2:55 PM tomorrow, both events will be streamed on the
UC Sports Network.
Elsewhere,
Ethan Rowe set a new PR in the javelin and the hammer throw.
Benjamin Hall also set a new program in the 10K.
Day two of the MSC Track and Field Championships begins at 12PM tomorrow and will be streamed live via the
UC Sports Network.
