Louisville, KY – The University of Pikeville men's and women's track & field teams were in action Friday at the Tiger Paw Classic hosted by Campbellsville University and Georgetown College.
On the men's side,
Noah Thomas tied for fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 14.62m, which was the best of any Mid-South Conference participant. He also finished fourth in the shot put at 13.51m, which was also the best of all MSC participants.
Ethan Moore competed in the weight throw and finished with a mark of 8.84m. Moore threw a personal best 10.00m in the shot put and finished 18th.
Avery Adderley also competed for the Bears in the high jump.
Bobby Allums ran in both the 60m and 200m events for UPIKE. In the 60m preliminaries, he ran a 7.18 to finish 19th before finishing in 20th in the 200 with a time of 23.20.
On the women's side,
Valerie Kendrick,
Verlecia Scarlett,
Miracle Taylor, and
Bethany Tackett all competed in the shot put and weight throw events. Three Bears finished in the Top 10 in the shot put with Kendrick's 11.69m giving her second place. Scarlett finished eighth with a throw of 10.18m while Taylor finished 10th at 9.41m. Tackett finished in 22nd at 7.97m.
Three Bears also finished in the Top 10 in the weight throw, with Scarlett's 12.59m mark giving her eighth place. Taylor finished in ninth at 12.32m while Kendrick finished with a personal best of 11.00m to place 10th. Tackett finished 19th with a toss of 9.48m.
