Pikeville, KY – UPIKE Esports has started up competition once again, competed in the Collegiate League of Legends Tournament powered by Battlefy. The Bears have completed three rounds of regular season play and are 1-2 after a loss last weekend against Illinois Tech. The tournament is the largest collegiate competitive esports circuit in North America.
In round one, the Bears took on Purdue Fort Wayne and fell 2-0 in the season opener before taking on Morehead State in round two where they trumped the Eagles 2-0.
In the most recent match against Illinois Tech, UPIKE started the match by getting first blood, killing one of the Scarlet Hawk's players as the Bears gained a 3,000-gold lead. Illinois Tech came back by pressuring the objectives, won the Baron Drake, and won soon after in a close matchup.
League of Legends roster member
Nicholas Letherbarrow commented on the game, "We ran the early game, but they had a good comeback so we know what we have to work on and we will be ready for next week."
UPIKE looks to bounce back this Saturday against Fontbonne University and even up their record.
