Richmond, KY – Men's golf finished fifth of eight teams in the Alice Lloyd Spring Invitational this weekend with a pair of top ten individual finishers in Blake Maupin and Broc Crist.

The Bears totaled 636 (+76) through two days at Battlefield Golf Course, earning fifth place. Cleveland State won the tournament with a 685 (+25) while Indiana University – East was runner up.

As a team, the Bears shot 320 (+40) on day one, before improving with a 316 (+36) on day two.

Maupin managed to tie for eighth place in a tight battle towards the top of the leaderboard. On day one he shot a 78 (+8) before improving five strokes with a 73 (+3) on Sunday. The senior carded his lone birdie on the first hole of the day in round 1, shooting two over par through the front nine. On the second day, Maupin tallied three straight birdies on holes 7-10.

Crist finished 10^th overall of 48 golfers with a 36-hole score of 152 (+12). The junior shot a 78 to match Maupin through the first 18, before carding a 74 (+4) on day two. Round one saw Crist tag back-to-back birdies on the 12^th and 13^th holes before clubbing three birdies on day two.

Tyler Ford finished tied for 34^th with a 168 (+28) after shooting an 80 (+10) on day one. Ford tallied a score of 88 (+18) on day two. Nate Feese and Nick Garrett both tied for 37^th overall with scores of 171 (+31). Feese carded scores of 84 and 87 while Garrett shot 89 and 82.

UPIKE men's golf gets back to work on Monday, April 4^th as they compete in the MSC Spring Showcase. The two-day event will be held at Bear Trace Golf Course in Crossville, Tenn.
