Bowling Green, KY – For the first time in her outdoor career, Valerie Kendrick has been named Mid-South Conference Field Athlete of the Week. She was named indoor athlete of the week in January.

Kendrick had a great weekend for the Bears which included two top-five performances in both the discus throw and shot put, while also competing in the hammer throw. In the discus, she posted a personal best mark of 39.55m to finish in third place after claiming a second-place finish last weekend. She finished behind two NCAA Division I throwers. In the shot put, she took fourth place with a toss of 11.00m, and set another personal best in the hammer throw with a throw of 35.04m, finishing 16th.

Kendrick continues to impress in her freshman campaign for the Bears. UPIKE returns to action this weekend in Berea, KY at the Landon Bond Invitational on Saturday hosted by Berea College.
