Cohutta, Ga. - UPIKE men's golf wrapped up their fall schedule with a second-place finish in the 2023 Eagle Invite.
Jon Bryant finished first overall in the tournament, shooting a 71 on day one and a 72 on day two. Bryant's score on day one was a tournament low. The sophomore from Pikeville, Ky., finished –1, edging out Truett McConnell's Vicente Smith for the tournament's top spot.
Blake Maupin had the second lowest score for UPIKE and finished eighth overall. The Richmond, Ky., native clubbed a 75 on day one and a 78 on day two. Lawson Hon rounded out the Bears' three top-15 finishers with a 155. Hon finished tied for eleventh and improved his score on day two by one stroke.
As a team, the Bears shot a 608, four behind first place Truett McConnell. With last weekend's result, the Bears wrap up their fall 2023 schedule and have some time off before returning to action in the spring.
