Harrogate, Tenn. - The UPIKE men's tennis team was defeated 5-2 by Lincoln Memorial University Saturday.

Doubles:

Juan Diego Alzate and Mirko Dedich were defeated 6-3 in the first doubles match. The Bears took the second match when Valentin Ortiz and Paulo Castillo won 6-1. In the third doubles match, Martin Lorenzo and Alfonso Robinson lost a close, 7-5 match.

Singles:

Juan Diego Alzate and Paulo Castillo outlasted their LMU counterparts to take their singles matches. Alzate went 6-1, 2-6 and 14-12. Castillo fell behind early but won the third set 10-8. Ortiz, Dedich Lorenzo and Robinson were all locked into tight matches but were defeated.

UPIKE is now 2-2 following Saturday's loss at LMU. The Bears will be back in action on March 4th for their Mid-South Conference opener at Bethel.
