Kansas City, Mo. - The NAIA released their honorees for the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Competitive Cheer Scholar-Athletes Wednesday morning and seven UPIKE Bears were awarded for their hard work in the classroom. 

To be nominated by their institution for this award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and must have attended their institution for one full year. 

The 2023 Daktronics NAIA Competitive Cheer Scholar-Athletes honorees for the University of Pikeville Cheer team are Chloe Adkins, Aryn Fannin, Paige Hoover, Karlee Kincer, Sarah Mattingly, Aariana Sparks and Celia Wiedel. 

UPIKE Cheer wrapped up their season with a fourth place finish at the Mid-South Conference Championships.
