BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - University of Pikeville cheer competed in the 2024 Mid-South Conference championships Saturday. Five Bears were also selected for all-conference honors.  

The championships were comprised of two rounds: the preliminary round and the final round. The prelims counted for 25% of the final score and the final counted for 75%. UPIKE scored 79.7 points in the prelim and was fifth overall. In the final, the Bears improved their score to 80.97 and finished fourth overall.  

UPIKE was also well represented when the MSC announced the all-conference teams. Earning first team All-Mid-South Conference honors were Kyla Worrix and Savannah Wright. Both Worrix and Wright are first-time honorees.  

Earning second team All-Mid-South Conference honors were Madison Anderson, Kaiden Hess, and LeShay Salyers. Salyers was also named second team all-conference in 2023 while Hess and Anderson were honored for the first time.
