BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - University of Pikeville competitive cheerleading came in fifth at the 2025 Mid-South Conference Cheer Championship this weekend. The Mid-South Conference also released their all-conference selections, academic awards, and Champion of Character honorees.
The competition consisted of two rounds. Round one counted for 25% of the total score while round two counted for 75% of the total score. The Bears came in fifth place and scored 83.79 points. Three Bears earned Second Team All-Conference honors, and they are Savannah Wright, Caroline Brown, and Kyla Worrix.
To be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must be in their third term or fourth quarter. UPIKE had the second-most academic all-MSC honorees, and they are Chloe Adkins, Kayce Campbell, Tianna Elia, Kaiden Hess, Sierra Lowe, Lauren Mann, Kyla Worrix, and Savannah Wright.
The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA. Representing the University of Pikeville cheerleading team on the 2025 MSC Champions of Character Team is Savannah Wright.
