New Orleans, La. – Officials of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced that Noah Thomas of the UPIKE track and field team is the 2023 NAIA USTFCCCA Outdoor Great Lakes Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year.
The Great Lakes Region includes Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and parts of Pennsylvania. Those honored for this award are voted on by USTFCCCA member coaches at the end of each season.
Noah Thomas scored 28 team points for the Bears at the Mid-South Outdoor Championships, highlighted by a personal record-setting 55.71m throw in the hammer. Thomas also finished second in the javelin, third in the discus and fifth in the shot put.
Thomas will return to action next week for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Nationals in Marion, Ind.
