PRESTONSBURG, Ky. - University of Pikeville men's golf finished third in the UPIKE Spring Invitational Tuesday.
Kobe Ingram got off to a hot start in round one, shooting a 32 (-4). Blake Maupin eagled on a 551-yard par five on hole seven and shot even through nine. Lawson Hon led a team-low 72 (Even) on day one, capping it off with a birdie on hole 18. Tyler Ford, Titus McGlone, Broc Crist, Garrett Compton, and Kobe Ingram all had three or more birdies on the front nine.
In the advanced stats, Kobe Ingram finished the tournament tied for first with six birdies and Lawson Hon was tied for third with four. Blake Maupin's eagle on seven was one of only four eagles between the nine teams competing. Maupin also led the tournament with 13 pars, followed by Saul Crist with 12.
Next up for Coach Dustyn Reinstetle's squad is a trip up the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway for the Midway Spring Invitational at the Griffin Gate Resort Course in Lexington, Ky.
