LEXINGTON, Ky. - University of Pikeville men's golf competed at the Midway Spring Invitational at the Griffin Gate Golf Club Tuesday.
During round one, Blake Maupin shot a team-low 73 (-3) after shooting even in the back nine. Maupin birdied holes 12 and 17. Saul Crist shot the second-lowest 76 and birdied hole five. On day two, Maupin once again had the lowest score. Maupin, along with Lawson Hon and Kobe Ingram, birdied hole 13.
In the advanced stats, Blake Maupin finished tied for third in pars with 24 and was even in par fives. Saul Crist finished ninth in par three scoring after parring seven times and birdying once.
Despite shaving ten strokes off their score from day one to day two, the Bears finished in tenth place overall. Next up for the Bears is the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament on April 22nd and 23rd.
