CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The University of Pikeville men's bowling team opened the 2025-26 campaign with a Tier One tournament last weekend, finishing 16
th in the 54th Annual Brunswick Midwest Collegiate Championship.
The Bears finished in the top third of the 51-team field, held at Imperial Lanes.
St. Ambrose (Iowa) University won the tournament, rallying from the sixth seed to be top-seeded Purdue University 2-0 in the finals of the eight-team tournament. The Fighting Bees beat teams seeded third and second before beating the No. 1 seed for the title.
The men were led by junior
Josh Maslanich, who finished tied for 18
th in a field of 400 bowlers with a five-game average of 212.6 in the five-game individual field. His day was keyed by a 245 in the fifth game to move into the Top 20.
Sophomore
Andrew Robitaille followed, averaging 207. Freshman
Deion Ahmed bowled four games and posted an average of 194.3.
Freshman
Quinn Tillman bowled four games in his collegiate debut, averaging 176.8.
The Bears will return to action on Saturday, October 25 in Smyrna, Tenn., when they compete in the Music City Classic, followed the next day by the Brandon Burns Memorial Classic.
Both tournaments are Mid-South Conference events.
