Box Score OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - UPIKE men's tennis lost 4-2 to Oakland City Sunday.
The Mighty Oaks swept the doubles match. Mateo Vargas and Guiliano Zambrano were defeated by Nelson Ramos and Jose Andres Perez. OCU secured the doubles team point after Juanes Pinto and Aleksander Ivancevic defeated Ahmed Hassairi and Timur Chsherbakov. The doubles matches ended with Willem Cilliers and Agustin Siufi defeating Harthem Rabbouch.
Jose Andres Perez put OCU up 2-0 in the match with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 win over Timur Chsherbakov. Guiliano Zambrano fell 3-6, 2-6 to Agustin Siufi. Harthem Rabbouch got the Bears back in the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Nelson Ramos, but the Mighty Oaks would put the match away in the new match. Juanes Pinto defeated Mateo Vargas 6-0, 6-3 to give OCU the match victory. Anton Hoffman ended the match with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Tomas Ojeda.
Men's tennis will be back in action Saturday in Pulaski, Tenn., for a 2:00 p.m. match against the UT-Southern Firehawks.
