RICHMOND, Ky. – University of Pikeville men's golf competed at the Colonel Classic hosted by Eastern Kentucky University this weekend.
Jon Bryant had the best three-round score for the Bears and finished 15
th overall. Bryant recorded 11 birdies and finished the tournament +1, with his best round coming in round two when he finished -1.
UPike's second best score came from
Kaeden Anderson, who finished tied for 28
th overall with a score of +8. Anderson's best round came in round one where he finished +1. Anderson finished the tournament strong, shaving one stroke off his score from the previous round and moving up four spots in the player leaderboard.
UPike was the only NAIA team at this event. Of the ten teams present, seven of them compete at the NCAA Division I level. The Bears came in eighth place, finishing four strokes ahead of Tennessee State University, who are a Division I school.
The Bears will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday in Prestonsburg, Ky., for the UPike Fall Invite at StoneCrest Golf Course.
