CORBIN, Ky. – For the second consecutive week, the University of Pikeville has both the attacker and setter of the week in the AAC.
 
Cassidy Rivas has been named attacker of the week, while Chloie Brinton has won the setter of the week for the third straight time.
 
Rivas is a 5-7 junior outside hitter from Cincinnati, Ohio, who has won the honor for the second time in her career. She follows teammate Allyah Tokelau, who took the award last week.
 
Brinton is a 5-8 senior from Lindon, Utah. This marks the eighth time in her career she has been named setter of the week.
 
In three matches last week, all of them wins, Rivas totaled 38 kills, averaging 3.8 kills per set. She had an attack percentage of .214. She had four service aces and two assists.
 
Additionally, she finished with 30 digs and four blocks.
 
Her week was highlighted by a dominant Saturday-morning performance against Bryan (Tenn.) College. In a 3-0 win, she finished with 18 kills and an assist.
 
For the season, she leads the conference with 148 kills and is second with an average of 3.44 per set.
 
Brinton had another stellar week, recording 123 assists with an average of 12.3 per set. She also had eight kills, 46 digs and five blocks in wins over Concord (W.Va.), Tennessee Wesleyan and Bryan (Tenn.).
 
Her average of 11.21 assists per set now leads the nation. Her 170 digs on the defensive side is fourth in the league.
 
The Bears will begin a four-match road swing on Tuesday night when they travel to Virginia to play Bluefield University. That match is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
