Kansas City, Mo. - Yesterday afternoon, the NAIA announced the 2022 Daktronics NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes. The 2022 University of Pikeville volleyball team set a record with five student-athletes receiving honors for their hard work in the classroom. 

To be nominated by their coaches for this award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended their institution for one full year. The 2022 Daktronics NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes for the University of Pikeville are Cheyenne Martinez, Daniela Hernandez, Hannah Dempsey, Kiara Warrens and Oksana Vucetic. 

It is the second time Dempsey has received this award while Martinez, Hernandez, Warrens and Vucetic are all first-time honorees.
