BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – UPike's
Brianna Rogers has been the Mid-South Conference bowler of the year for the last two seasons. She isn't interested in giving the title up anytime soon.
Â
Rogers, a senior from Cincinnati, was named the league's bowler of the week after the first two MSC tournaments of the season last weekend.
Â
Rogers was the individual winner of both the Greater Nashville Open and Brandon Burns Memorial Classic last weekend in Smyrna, Tenn. She averaged 218.75 in eight games across both tournaments.
Â
On Saturday, Rogers averaged 217.25 in four games for the win. She posted a 242 in the second game and was over 200 in three of the four games.
Â
Sunday saw her improve on her averaging, posting a four-game average of 220.25 for the win. She rolled a 247 to lead her to the title.
Â
Thanks to efforts like those Rogers posted, the Bears won the Greater Nashville Open and finished fifth in the Burns Memorial.
Â
This is the first time this season Rogers has been bowler of the week this season and the ninth time in her collegiate career she has won the honor.
Â
Rogers and the Bears will travel to Marietta, Ga., this weekend for the Bowlero Open. The two-day event will begin Saturday morning.
