MARIETTA, Ga. – The University of Pikeville women's bowling program turned in a huge performance last weekend, winning the Tier One Bowlero Southern Collegiate Classic.

The win gave first-year Coach Amber Griffin two titles in four tournaments this season.

The Bears qualified first for the tournament with a score of 8004. They outdistanced second-place Milligan (Tenn.) University's 7535. SCAD-Savannah was third at 7493 and Alabama-Birmingham fourth with a score of 7396.

In the tournament, the Bears beat UAB 3-0 in the semifinals and SCAD 3-0 for the title.

Sophomore
Kaytlen Peck also had a big weekend, coming away tied as the champion in the individual standings. The Fort Lawn, S.C., product averaged 210.8 in five games, rolling a 247 in the final game.

Junior
Haley Grabowski also made the all-tournament team, finishing fifth in the field of 111 bowlers with an average of 202.6.

Senior
Sasha Uchwal was seventh in the field, averaging 199.6, while senior
Brianna Rogers gave the Bears four players in the Top 10 with an average of 195.8.

UPike will have a break before returning to the lanes. They'll compete in the Bulldog Bash on Nov. 22-23. The event, hosted by Union Commonwealth University, will be held in Richmond, Ky.
