OLD HICKORY, Tenn. – In a loaded field that featured 14 of the Top 30 teams in NAIA golf, the University of Pikeville had a very respectable eighth-place finish in the Music City Classic.

Nelson Scott's 22
nd-ranked Bears finished with a three-round score of 904, tying them with No. 11 Southeastern (Fla.) in eighth in the tournament.

Second-ranked Keiser (Fla.) was the only team to finish under par, carding a 5-under 859. The Seahawks roared through the loaded field, finishing 19
th strokes ahead of second-place SCAD Atlanta, which is ranked ninth in the nation.

No. 8 Lindsey Wilson followed at 23-over par, with No. 15 Indiana Wesleyan and No. 6 Marian (Ind.) rounding out the Top 5 with scores of 25- and 27-over par.

No. 18 Cumberlands (29-over) and No. 13 Truett McConnell (30-over) were in front of UPike and Southeastern, while No. 12 Milligan wrapped up the Top 10 scores at 45-over par.

Rocky Mountain (Mont.), ranked 27
th, came in 11
th with a score of 51-over par, while No. 21 Hope International (Calif.) followed at 59-over, No. 24 Cumberland (Tenn.)Â and No. 29 Bethel (Ind.) finished tied at 70-over.

Trevecca Nazarene, St. Thomas (Fla.) and Indiana Tech rounded out the field.

Tayla Howroyd had a Top 10 finish with a three-round score of four-over 220. She recorded rounds of 73, 70 and 77.

UPike is now finished with the regular season and will be back on the course April 14-15 in the AAC Conference Championships, which will be held in Acworth, Ga., at Governor's Town Club.
